About the Conference
The Dubai Sports Council gives great importance to the role played by international conferences and meetings to support the desired development of sport in the UAE, as is the case in the rest of the world, as conferences represent a good opportunity to learn about successful experiences in football and all sports and to benefit from the information received when planning to carry out the desired development in our sport.
The organization of Dubai International Sports Conference has been at the forefront of the Dubai Sports Council’s priorities since its inception in November 2005 as it has also been incorporated as part of the Council’s first strategic objective. On a yearly basis the Council forms an organizing committee for the conference constituted of a selection of specialists that decide on all the necessary, honorary invitees and speakers, and select the topics and discussions of seminars each year in line with the conference title and that complement what has been achieved in previous editions of the conference, making the conference an ongoing structure that identifies the experiences of institutions, clubs and professional sports, and constantly communicates with them.
Annually, since 2006, the Dubai Sports Council holds the Dubai International Sports Conference, which discusses the professional sports from all aspects through the participation of many decision-makers and practitioners from international football clubs, national and international associations and international players' agents. The first conference was held in 2006 under the title of "Professionalism in Football", while the second conference in 2007 was titled "Sports Professionalism" and the third in 2008 was titled "The Creation Of Professional Sports "and the fourth conference was held in early 2010 under the title "The Challenges of Professionalism", and held on the sidelines of the conference was the first congregation of players' agents in the world.
The fourth conference was honored by the attendance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council attended the conference in previous years, as well His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee President of the "Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Creative Sports" and HH Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the Arab youth sports club.
